Welcome to Treatment 4 Physicians, a subsidiary of Solutions 4 Recovery. We specialize in drug and alcohol rehabilitation specifically for physicians that have fallen under the yolk of substance abuse or addiction.

Physicians train to become emotionally and physically toughened in order to handle the daily multitude of cases that represent the worst that can happen in society.  Despite this inner strength, individually physicians have an Achilles tendon through which some fall prey to social, emotional, and psychological illness. A recent decision to limit the number of hours resident doctors can work to 80 per week was viewed as both a blessing and a burden; many doctors felt longer hours were a necessity in their training. Research has exposed an increased rate of suicide among physicians- twice the normal rate for men and up to three times the normal ate for women. The lifestyle of high stress, chronic fatigue, emotional suppression, and ready access to pharmaceutical grade drugs additionally set the stage for substance abuse and addiction. The estimated number of physicians who have had or will have a substance abuse problem range from 10 to 15% of the entire profession. These estimates are considered only roughly accurate, though; loyalty, respect, and a feeling of shared hardships create a code of silence within the profession. Physicians often are reluctant to report or confront colleagues regarding substance abuse problems. Additionally, an individual may or may not recognize their own problem, and their best efforts at self-treatment almost always fail.
